Hi, I'm Your Photographer
I trained in various genres of photography, but I soon realized that portraiture was where I belonged. I love capturing people. It's an honour to be chosen to capture where you are in your life's story. It is such a beautiful thing. Having your portrait taken is a very intimate experience. You're ultimately bearing your soul,or at least that's my creative mission, to photograph who you are and not just what you look like.
"Beauty photographed on a soul level" is my mission statement.
My approach to my photography is very much connected to my clients. My style is classic, but elegant and I incorporate various forms of lighting to achieve the end product. I enjoy capturing the true essence of a the people I photograph. My clients has to walk away having enjoyed the entire experience from start to finish.

My Story
I studied Pharmacy at North-West University, which is also where I met the love of my life, now my husband of 16 years. I was all set to forge my career as a pharmaceutical scientist. About 3 months into our marriage I was offered an amazing opportunity with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in Pretoria to do my PhD in Pharmaceutics. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I traveled to Switzerland, Denmark and the USA for my research.
My journey into the world of photography was a beautiful one. I was in the process of finishing my PhD when our first daughter was born. That's when my career trajectory did a total 180 and I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. At this point, photography had only been a hobby. After completing my degree (and the birth of our second child), I decided to start training as a photographer. I would never have imagined that something I enjoyed as a hobby would grow to a point where it was something that fed my soul. It is an indescribable feeling. Photographing people is such an intimate thing. Creating beautiful portraits makes my heart smile.
Now, I'm a very busy mom of four and doing what I love.
After moving around South Africa, we finally settled down in the beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa in 2018.
I turned 40 in 2021 and I called it my 40 years of grace. It was also my most challenging year. I am filled with gratitude for where I am in this point of my journey through life.

My Studio
I have a beautiful studio pace in the heart of Somerset West. I use a combination of lighting setups and backdrops to get the best look for your session. Your photo session is all about you so my aim is to make it a luxury experience for you. The Professional Hair and Makeup artist will be on site for your shoot, so you have the full experience from start to finish.
I am a Canon girl and I have been shooting with the Canon 5DIII for the past 10 years. Professional cameras for me is like luxury cars, you just have a preference, but they're all great in their own right. It's the photographer behind it that makes the difference.
My studio equipment is Godox and Jinbei lighting strobes, along with Canon speedlights. My got-to store for camera & lighting equipment is Camerastuff. Here's a link if you'd like you have a look
